The Hedera model has been different: it was designed, implemented with real families, and empirically evaluated to generate solid evidence.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Between September 2023 and August 2026, a European consortium of five social action organizations carried out the most rigorous implementation of a systemic family therapy model in the home documented to date. The results not only validate the approach; they reveal dynamics of family change that challenge conventional practices in clinical settings.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"western\">Scope of implementation: numbers that speak of scale<\/h1>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">The implementation of Hedera was not a small pilot project. The data speaks of sustained ambition:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong>244 families assisted<\/strong> in 4 European countries:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3 print:block print:space-y-1\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<li><strong>\ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddf8 Catalonia, Spain (EDUVIC):<\/strong> 144 families total access<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\"><strong>\ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddf8 Basque Country, Spain (Agintzari):<\/strong> 34 families full access<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>\ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7 <!-- notionvc: beb504b9-0530-4922-a74a-e3b050ca997d -->France (Caminante):<\/strong> 30 families full access<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong><span class=\"notion-enable-hover\" data-token-index=\"0\">\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf9 <\/span>Italy (La Bottega Dei Ragazzi):<\/strong> 26 families full access<\/li>\n<li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>\ud83c\uddf7\ud83c\uddf4 <!-- notionvc: df105412-8f64-4bb1-9d41-cdaee995dcb2 -->Romania (HoltIS):<\/strong> 10 families full access<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong>49 therapists and professionals<\/strong> involved in direct intervention, representing a diversity of professional profiles (psychologists, social workers, social educators, psychotherapists).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">This volume is not accidental. It reflects a research design that sought real-world validation, not laboratory validation. The families were referred from real social, educational, and health services, facing complex relational, emotional, and cognitive health situations.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"western\">What improvements did families experience? Changes in relational health<\/h1>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Hedera&#8217;s central metric is the<strong> relational health of families<\/strong>. It&#8217;s not just about reducing symptoms, but about strengthening the capacity for connection, authentic communication, and conflict resolution within the context where families live.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\">Impact according to therapists who intervened<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong>Faster and stronger therapeutic alliance:<\/strong> An EDUVIC therapist reported building a &#8220;therapeutic alliance with the whole family, especially with the children.&#8221; Another therapist from Agintzari noted that &#8221; both individual and family defenses were effectively reduced&#8221; and that &#8220;the bond of security and trust necessary for intervention was built very quickly and effectively.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong>Authentic observation of dynamics:<\/strong> Instead of families narrating their interactions in therapy, the therapist directly observes how they relate in their natural context. A professional from Bottega dei Ragazzi noted that &#8220;the therapist was able to observe firsthand the dynamics described by the parents and the influence of their environment (pets, the presence of the maternal grandmother, the presence of neighbors). This allowed the family to experience the situation in a familiar way, without the need or possibility of filtering the narrative.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong>Contextualized intervention:<\/strong> The home setting allows for more precise interventions. Therapists were able to work &#8220;in situ&#8221; and apply techniques immediately in real-life conflict or communication situations. A HoltIS therapist reported &#8220;a reduction in anxiety associated with the clinical space, especially for the adolescent, who felt more comfortable and willing to open up,&#8221; along with &#8220;the possibility of integrating therapeutic interventions into the daily routine, with immediate applicability.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\">Families&#8217; perspective: what changed for them<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong>Safety and authenticity:<\/strong> Families consistently highlighted feeling &#8220;more relaxed,&#8221; &#8220;more at ease,&#8221; and &#8220;on familiar ground.&#8221; One family noted: &#8220;We&#8217;re more relaxed. It&#8217;s warmer at home. More closeness. It allows us to participate as a family; everyone takes part, and in an environment like this, I think we show ourselves more, just as we are.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><strong>Full participation:<\/strong> The home setting allowed for the inclusion of family members who were not fully integrated during consultations.
